Bio

Her aura is reminiscent of a young Ms. Baker, Josephine that is...

You may have seen this songbird in Paris, Belgium, Italy, London and on the streets of Berlin; basking in the glory of newfound freedom of international travel.

Born in Brooklyn, NYC Yanelle Dugar aka Unbelievable Jones, entered the world surrounded by Classic R&B (thanks to her grandmother's weekly house parties) and was greatly influenced by her mother's love of Hip-Hop and 80′s Pop music.

She began crafting her art at the age of 7, enrolling in a gifted vocal program.

Her drive to create her own melodies and verses spanned far into adulthood.

She became a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition Dance/Electronica Division not once but twice with her song BREATHE recorded in Liege, Belgium, 2009 & COME BACK BABY recorded in NYC, 2011.

She soared academically as well, graduating with a BA in Cultural Anthropology and Sociology from Duke University, but her love of the vocal arts endured and she raced back to NYC to rekindle her relationship with music.

Thanks to HB Studio, New York City, and a host of inspiring musicians she met in Harlem, NYC she unexpectedly discovered an instant love affair with JAZZ performance which is now evident in every genre and stage she touches.

You WILL remember the first time you hear & see Yanelle Dugar...PERIOD.

“Fearless beautiful talented just some of the words used to describe Yanelle Dugar aka UnBelievable Jones. From the gritty New York City streets, the statuesque former model possesses the heart/soul of a true jazz/soul vocalist. A venerable mix of Ella Fitzgerald, Josephine Baker, Lena Horne, Mary J Blige and Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu, Jones' style of putting it down evokes emotion in the listener. The world has never seen a singer like UnBelievable, she is in a league of her own. Able to handle many a genre traditional jazz, R&B, Electronica and Dance like a super hero she conquers all. Wonder women with a mic. Rising to the perilous heights of fame in the music game, however, is a trip riddled with the constant threat of all the trappings of so called success. She stays focused on her craft, fame is just a mere by-product. That's what her legion of fans connect with, her sense of realness. She is that girl next door that we grew up with, the one that we knew would blossom and move on to bigger and better things, never change and bring it back home. While scores of young singers have been packaged and shoved down our throats, the cream always rises to the top. UnBelievable Jones is posed to sit upon the throne, not because it was given to her, but because she earned it.”Publication: Rohn Padmore's Fashionista Magazine
