Acting is just a pure business for him. That's what actor Manmeet Singh says in the first flush. But once he warms up to the subject, he speaks quite passionately on acting on 'acting' and his 'turbaned look' "I love doing comedy. But comedy is different from caricature. Sometimes, i get offers to play a humorous character. the role turns out to be more of caricature. I do what I should: I refuse it then and thers," says the Mumbai-based actor, who first got interested in acting during his school days at Chandigarh. So far he has done over 120 commercials. "Remember the saradrji of HP turbojet? It's me. I've even done some French ads!" he tells us. Coming to films, his count is not bad either. "I have acted in (at least) 22 Punjabi, Hindi and Tamil films. You must have seen me in Sat Sri Akal and rab Ne Bana Di Jodi." He also acted in yet-to-be released Hindi films Accident on Hill road and Kalpvriksha. Though not exactly fascinated by the small screen, he may take a shot at it soon. "My daughters want me to act in serials. So one of these days I may start my small screen stint," he says. By the way, Manmeet is not new to the small screen. He did Lo ka Lo Baat, a programme on Sab TV. "It was an impromptu show. I did not have to speak rehearsed lines,"he quips. About reality shows that are in rage these days, he's rather skeptical. "I don't know how I would fit into a reality show," he says. recently, he added another interesting bit to his acting repetoire by doing a Hollywood film Heart land. "Need I say that it was a dream come true? Who would not like to work in a Hollywood project?" he signs off. - by Minna Zutshi Hindustan TimesDate:
