The First Annual Living Wake Party hits Geneva October 4th, 2017 at EvenFlow!

This is a one-of-a-kind evening of fun, entertainment, and sing-along opportunities of songs from the 70's-80's-90's with occasional opportunities for cheesy humor and political satire.

According to Ken Loebel, "A Living Wake Party is an opportunity to celebrate life while alive, rather than be celebrated when dead. The idea was inspired after my father passed away and I saw lots of people attend the funeral with nice accolades that my dad would have loved to hear. I want to tell my friends and family how much I appreciate them while they are alive, and I believe we all want that as well". People will have an opportunity if they choose, to recognize their friends, and share in group toasts, cheer, and an evening of good-spirited fellowship.

EvenFlow will host the event and will be providing drink and food specials throughout the night.

Ken Loebel is in business with the Wayne Messmer and Associates Financial Services firm in Chicago and is a resident and long time musician in the Chicago and Milwaukee area. He has raised his family in Geneva Illinois and wishes to have the First Annual Living Wake Party in his home town.

The First Annual Living Wake Party is open to the public on October 4th, 2017 at EvenFlow. Ken did not want people drinking and eating at his funeral without him, and decided to establish an Annual Living Wake Party for everyone to come, bring friends, and celebrate life while alive, and to share in the drinks and food with friends too. Ken would like to to encourage everyone to join in and focus on life, friendships, appreciation for each other and our imperfections, and let life be the focus rather than the news of the day.

Ken will provide some piano entertainment, in the spirit of creating an environment where people can sing along, have fun, and laugh out loud. He hopes to have some local musicians join periodically on stage during the evening to share in the evening's entertainment as well as to be recognized for their impact in Ken's life.

Loebel has performed in many bands in Chicago and Milwaukee and has opened for national groups such as The Guess Who, LeAnn Rimes, the BoDeans and he currently has a recording project underway, under the name Underground Peasants, which has ranked as high as #1 in the local Reverbnation singer songwriter rankings, and is a social statement about the current state of global affairs.
