Jessica Rae’s sound is as unique and infectious as her laugh. When you leave one of her gigs you know you've heard something entirely her own, something much better than 'sounds like'. Her music brings your heart and attention to the stage, knowing that here is an artist that can quiet bar chatter with a song, and a smile that can mesmerize, and charm, an unready audience.

Most recently, Jessica Rae was selected to be the first female recording artist sponsored by Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka. World renowned photographer, Marc Hauser, known for his documentary photographic style of capturing legends before they are legends continues to work with Jessica Rae. She was featured on his site’s home page of his website for the month of February, 2011. Jessica Rae rocked the house at NYC’s The Bitter End, captured hearts at Joe’s Bar on Weed St. in Chicago, she's performed at various Hard Rock Cafés and this last summer she was invited to be the opening act for Pat Benatar. Jessica Rae won the honor to perform on the US Cellular’s Stage at the 2010 Milwaukee Summerfest, the world's largest music festival. In July 2010, she independently released her first music video, featuring her song "I Could Get Used To This", now being featured on The Country Network. She was selected to be a “Rising Star” on the PBS Television show, Legends Legends & Lyrics. Within the last couple years, Jessica has performed on many regional and national commercials, including those for McDonalds, Buick, Allstate, Seaworld, Hallmark, Kellogg’s, and Guardian.

    One of the great things about New York City is that we constantly have talent flooding in and passing through from other notably music-worthy cities. Nashville in particular provides a great sisterhood with NYC, partly because of its relative proximity and partly due to it being one of the songwriting hubs of the country. This October, Nashville-based Jessica Rae will be gracing the stage of one of our hometown staples, The Bitter End, bringing her contemporary twist on her classical violin training turned soulful singer-songwriter to the bursting downtown scene. Jessica credits her grandfather, a “vivacious, free spirited family man” for inspiring her at a young age. ”Listening to his music and the way he laughed along with it, I realized music is a wonderful way to connect with people,” she explains. “I found it intriguing and my parents were gracious enough to let me explore it. My musical influences can include all the music I listen to from my classical upbringing to Mo-Town oldies to enjoying the stories of the country greats.” With her latest full-length CD, “Ruby Red,” released in November 2009 and an EP “2008 Sessions,” just released in March, Jessica is making her mark in the music world. She also recorded and starred in a music video for her song “I Could Get Used To This,” available on iTunes. Rae is a spokesperson and activist dedicated to achieving a recognizable brand so as to increasingly contribute to charities such as Smile Train and, most recently, becoming involved with The National Hemophilia Association. She designed a t-shirt line in order to bring Smile Train greater awareness for their kindness to children; additionally, there’s a music video coming out featuring the song she co-wrote, “Victory For Women”, to increase public awareness for Von Willebrand disease.     As she sang "Ave Maria" a cappella during her grandma's memorial service, Winnetka native Jessica Rae's life changed dramatically. The skilled violinist had traveled around the world with the Suzuki Performing Group but until her grandma's death had never sang in front of people. That experience unleashed her voice and sparked a career that has since included her selection as a "Rising Star" on PBS's "Legends & Lyrics" show, a five-song EP, "Ruby Red," and a performance on the US Cellular Stage at the 2010 Milwaukee Summerfest. "When an artist imitates another artist, he gives up who he is," the New Trier alum said. "I'm me and I write about what I know and I sing how I hear it." She was once told a man felt a "rootsy, rock influence with a homespun, middle-of-the-road country sound that was both contemporarily fresh and timelessly honest," and it's a definition she now repeats. In addition to her aforementioned successes, Rae also opened for Pat Benatar last summer and The Country Network recently began airing her first music video featuring "I Could Get Used To This."
