Bio

I have had a passion for Indian Music ever since I was a kid. I have been singing since childhood and learnt singing under my father and brothers. My father was an Indian Classical Singer trained under Pandit Ganpatrao Gopalrao KHARE in Mumbai. My brothers too were trained under my father, and sings Classical Music and one brother has produced his own Raag "Ratnavali" published in "Sangeet" Magazine of India. He has composed and written Urdu, Gujarati & Hindi Ghazals and songs. So my childhood was spent listening to my father doing his Riyaz and my brothers discussing Shastriya Sangeet Raags, and accompanying him by playing Harmonium, Tabla, Guitar, Sitar, Santoor, Dilruba, Jaltarang. My father and brothers taught singing, Harmonium and Tabla to lots of people without any fees, due to their strong beliefs that Sangeet Vidya should be shared and taught free of charge. When I was at school, I participated in singing during the annual parents day. After moving to UK, I had training under Shri Sheetal Mukerjee of Calcutta and Shri Kumar Saswat of Banares. I formed my own music group called "United Arts" and have given programmes locally and nationally. I have also performed in Sweden, Kenya and New York during Navratri Festival. Here's my attempt to present my voice to all you music lovers.Thank you. Hansa
