Guitarist, mandolinist, composer, arranger. Born in Curitiba • Brazil in 1987, Eduardo Mercuri had his first contact with music very early, even in childhood, influenced by his father who is a big music fan, and at age 11 began playing the guitar, today’s graduate with a music education degree in music from FAP, also attended of taking classes and workshops with Vittor Santos, Osiel Fonseca, Oliver Pellet, Ronaldo of Mandolin, Daniel Santiago, Mick Goodrick, Bruce Bartlet, Steve Rochinski, among others. Eduardo leads the Jazz Cigano Quintet, a group that work on the musical genre played by Django Reinhardt, also integrates Mercuri Duo develops an instrumental work returned to the world of stringed instruments, and the world music groups Omundô and Bayaka, the Trio Receita de Samba which carries out work in the world of samba and choro and other Brazilian rhythms and the Eduardo Mercuri Quartet where there’s a mix of Brazilian rhythms with modern jazz textures. He has joined the Jazz Revelation Records Artist’s Line up and is currently living in Boston, attending to Berklee College of music and working on promoting his 1st solo CD, and the first CD of “Jazz Cigano Quinteto”.
