decided to use 24 bit wav files, which means I can't do post-production, because I don't have technology to keep my files as 24 bit after they go into one of the two editing programs I have. But, I've often thought it sounds better right on the TASCAM, and I started to wonder if that is because I record in 24 bit wav audio file. There may often be a click that exceeds levels at the start. That is the record button being pushed. The sound will certainly be more dynamic, as there is no way for me to add compression. any effects, which are very simple variations of reverb, come directly from the TASCAM. Otherwise, the levels may be a little low vecause of no compression, and no way to use post-production to make it louder.
