Rudy Stevens

Background: Rudy Stevens is a singer/songwriter from Columbus, Ohio. With the family video camera in front of him at the age of seven, Rudy discovered his love for the spotlight his ability to light up a room with his voice.\\nAt the beginning of what became an ongoing family crisis, Rudy found himself in the arms and home of his grandparents. Once they saw the raw talent and light inside of the boy, they immediately began his musical training with piano lessons and entered him into the church choir, where he grew to carry the Tenor lead.\\nRudy discovered his ability to create unique melodies and combine them with soulful, thought-provoking lyrics immediately following his training as a young pianist.\\nGrowing up with singer/songwriter influences such as Fleetwood Mac, Pearl Jam, Matchbox 20, Michelle Branch, and a wide variety of others from a span of genres, Rudy felt compelled to ask for a guitar for Christmas at the age of 15.\\nPicking up his first guitar was really where the magic began. Three short months after writing his first full song on guitar his grandfather bought him, Rudy took 1st place in his high school\\\'s talent show, singing his original, \\\"Good Enough.\\\"\\nRudy\\\'s talent and love for music became more than evident to all those who witnessed his performances on stage. Rudy followed up his winning break into small-town fame by leading the Tenor section in the swing choir as well as gaining a lead role in the school\\\'s production, \\\"Anything Goes.\\\" \\nBy collaborating with long time friend and fellow singer/songwriter, Paige Evans; Rudy and Paige found themselves winning 1st place together in the last talent show of their high school career, singing their original, \\\"I\\\'m Okay.\\\"\\n\\nShortly after graduation Rudy made the compromise to set his musical dreams aside to begin his college career, but this didn\\\'t stop him from writing and recording nearly 3 albums worth of music. \\nThrough the death of his parents at 16 and later the survival of an emotionally abusive relationship, Rudy no longer contemplated putting music at the forefront of his life, but discovered the essence of the finite time we are granted and decided it was time to take charge of his dreams and follow through with the goals he had set for himself.\\nIn December of 2011, Rudy found himself packing up his most precious belongings, saying goodbye to dear friends, family, and three years of hard work toward a degree in Psychology, and drove himself 56 hours across the country from Ohio to Los Angeles, California, in hopes the Golden State would recognize his talents and offer him the opportunity to fulfill his dreams, and inspire the hearts of millions to realize their potential, and never stop chasing your dreams.

Interests: Writing and recording music; acting; dancing; inspiring others; helping others smile or simply feel; traveling; experiencing new places and people, new cultures; food; fashion; the ocean; our unknown beginning and our undetermined end.

Goals: My main goal as a musician is to be heard, and to influence a change in thought and perception, I write about the things I don\\\'t understand about our world and the things that have truly left a mark in my life, I\\\'d love to represent change through music. I\\\'m also studying for a degree in Cultural Anthropology, I\\\'d love to someday discover where this mess of a world came from and what brought us to the roads we\\\'re walking now.
