Megan Frost

Background: I am a 25 year young mother of 1. My son is 5 and going on 15! :) I have lived in Virginia Beach my whole life. I grew up as the only child with my mother. My dad and mom split when I was little. He had kidney problems and faced many many health issues his whole life. He passed away in April of '08. He had spent his time here longing to see me achieve my goals; and was able to pass on knowing that was exactly what I was doing! Then as for my mother, she is an art teacher. She is not the average hippy wine drinking crazy art teacher. She is very talented and is somewhat classy and very knowledgeable. In my teens, I wanted to attend an art school to pursue some sort of visual arts degree. But lets face it, Artisit do not get the recognition they deserve these days and expecially the pay! So I thought it would be in my best interest to try out the culinary world. In high school we made the first advanced culinary class! We entered local competitions and then I knew this is what I was meant to do! So after High School, I had my son and made the goal of going on to college. I enrolled at a local community college here in Virginia Beach in Fall of '06. During the time there I was unhappy with instuctors I recieved! There also were no specialty cooking classes to take. But there was one teacher who blew my mind and am thankful I could get her for more than 1 class. I learned a reasonable amount of information; however, I wish I could have learned more. I graduated this past December (Dec. '08). Now I am stuck looking for a job without having to be away from my son. I work weekends at a catering facility which I love! In my high school days I worked at a grocery store, then moved on to Panara Bread, and a place called Table Talk Cafe. My passion is to be in and around food and hoping for a bright future!

Interests: I just completed one of them, graduating with honors from school with an Applied Science Degree in Hopitality Management: Culinary Arts. To open my own rest/shop/catering service! Enjoy cooking with my son and for him to achieve all his goals. Hoping to help him along his way as best as I can!

Goals: Cooking, art, crafts,scapbooking ...I want to be the next Martha Stewart (minus the jail time)! I love cooking with my son as well! He is very talented in the kitchen too! He follows directions well and hopefully he will be a famous chef one day.
