Miroslav Farina

Background: My name is Miroslav Farina. It doesn't make much sense put together like that, since Miroslav means glorifier of peace (in Slavic languages) and Farina could be flour or meal (in Latin)... so maybe I am supposed to solve war conflicts by making some really mean pizza? Well, people do fight less when they are full... the problem is that I really don't cook... oh well, there goes world peace. I enjoy thinking about such pointless things once in a while, when I take a break from daydreaming. Too many people have often told me I have too much of an imagination. I reply: Could one ever have enough of it? I am a young professional seeking the right environment to hone my skills as a visual communicator. I have graduated Marywood University with an MFA degree in Graphic Design and I am currently seeking employment in the creative industry. I am also a very versatile individual, with backgrounds in business administration and IT, as well as graphic design. I have done a number of websites and have worked with clients on some print projects like magazine ads, promotional postcards, logos, billboards, etc. I have worked for a number of companies on various projects from designing flash splash pages to developing full database-driven e-commerce solutions. Rather than working at big-name agencies, I have done most of my work freelancing for smaller local companies. That has given me the opportunity to deal with all aspects of a project - from conception through implementation to feedback-based modification and long term maintenance. I have had the advantage of working directly with my clients and have developed good skills at gathering requirements, checking assumptions, brainstorming design ideas with them, and pitching my design solutions. Most of all, I am fascinated by great design and want to develop myself professionally in a creative environment. I am highly proficient with Adobe products, and I have demonstrated my ability to learn fast and excel in challenging environments, as illustrated by my academic achievements. I always enjoy struggling with complex projects that require that extra out-of-the-box creativity ingredient, which distinguishes the excellent from the passable.
