Tim Helbling

Background: "It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll" (Bon Scott - ACDC) After being a casual musician for years , developing his own style of playing and writing , Tim has really found his calling. The last two years , he has played approx 200 gigs around NorCal meeting many musicians (the wise elders and hungry young). Since moving to California in 2002 , he immediately helped form Minor Dischord (a groove rock band from Stockton CA) and they have been featured live on TV and radio programs in the Sacramento , Stockton and Modesto areas in addition to many shows from clubs to festivals. This has led to other video programs in Berkeley , Sacramento , Stockton and Modesto and hundreds of shows throughout northern CA. In 2008 FunkyTim formed "the 209 All Stars" , a collection of talented musicians , to play a diverse mix of popular modern and classic music. This band is anything but typical when it comes to song selection and our energetic live shows. Our ability to invite anyone to come play with us for specific shows has won us many fans and clients. In under a year , we have performed over 100 gigs. With vast influence ( all classic styles , jambands/improvised music , and underground originality ) , its important for Tim to mix and match sounds and styles to create next textures. Working on acoustic 12 string (solo) or with a full band , this is one hard working musician.

Interests: When I'm not playing/rehearsing/recording every day of the week , I'm out chillin on a beach , playing some hacky sack or frisbee golf. The new toy we're all playing is the Wii sports games. And thank you DVR for making sure I get to finally watch all the tv shows I miss. Dont forget to read a book kids!

Goals: I am working full time as a musician now , which has been a goal of mine. The background work is very difficult , making hundreds of calls a week , managing musicians and providing them with the tools to make us a killer live band.
