Darah Barnes

Background: I am a Dancer at The Dancer's Pointe Studio in Orlando, Florida. I have been dancing for 11 years and I've been a part of their dance company " Pointe of Impact" for 5 years. We compete and perform at festivals in Florida every year and have our nationals out of state. I am also an aspiring actress. I love acting and have had leads in plays and musical theater dance performances, where I've played characters such as, leads in Mama mia ,Bonejangles in the Corpse Bride, a nun in "Coffee in a Cardboard Cup", and Daddy in Sweet Charity's Rhythm of Life. This year I auditioned for the Grinch in my company's production of "Whoville" I went to Barbizon school of Modeling and Acting and I also sing. I was in my church as well as school chorus for many years and would often be chosen for solos. My friends tell me I have an amazing voice and should audition for American Idol, but I would always refuse. I stopped singing to pursue a dancing career. But I would love to get back into singing. I also play piano and flute, and I will soon begin guitar lessons.

Interests: I want to become an actress more than anything in the world, and I honestly feel I have enough talent to become a successful one.

Goals: I am a student at Boone High School I am currently majoring in Music I LOVE MUSIC!!! I am in the Sound Of The Braves marching band and last year at the State band competition, we came in 5th over all with our percussion placing in 1st!! I love dancing and acting...as I've already mentioned -ballet -tap -hip hop -jazz -contemporary -musical theater I also like to make short films with my friends and mix music. I've mixed two songs that were used by my dance studio for two of our competition pieces. Everyone had thought they were professionally done, before I had told them I mixed them myself.
