The music world welcomes an artist that dares to be different; Siaire Reign. This genre gelling, raspy voiced, artist is no carbon copy. A lyrical ninja; her rap style is intelligent and innovative, infiltrating listeners ears like a 19th century sonnet. In many ways Siaire can be thought of as the Mullet of music; business in the front, party in the back or in her case hip hop in the front and a little bit of Alternative soul in the back! As a Detroit native, one can say Siaire was truly born of Motown music. The artist palate for great music started young listening to albums around her father. By the age of eleven she was writing raps and poetry for school contests and winning them all. According to interviews with the artist her refreshing sound is influenced by the likes of Phyllis Hyman, Michael Henderson, and Billie Holiday as well as Country and Rock legends Randy Travis and Joan Jett. As well as the many influential artist and blues sounds she picked up from her seven years of living in Chicago. A equally important figure that helped shaped Siaire is Efe Bes, an African drummer who took her under his wing and transformed her into his drumming protégé. The artist first street album entitled “Process” was co produced with Walter Haazmaat Howard who has worked with artist such as Mr. Porter from D12, Kenny Fav, Eric Robinson and Rashaan Patterson. Ms. Reigns introductory album could be labeled as soulful and it made her a local success; featuring such songs as ‘Kick start da revolution’ and ‘Common denominator’. This influential album also demonstrated her skills as a song writer. Two hit songs on the album, ‘Emotionally Careless’ sang by friend and fellow artist Sandra Antongiorgi and ‘We Belong Together’ Sang by Arlan Owens and music by Vo Era were written by the artist. Also, she spent time working with Lathun Grady of the hit songs "Fortunate" and "Freak it". Although, Ms. Reigns career has been fruitful thus far; as she performs regularly at venues and lounges in Detroit and Chicago, and is currently in the works of moving to New York. She has performed at the Detroit African World Festival, The University of Illinois, Subterranean,They Say, The Artist Village and many other venues. This upcoming album will be recorded with a live band and according an interview with the artist, “if you are looking for the boom, pow, bang, and pizzazz of alternative hip hop, then this next release is it”.
