Sandra Bouza is a Toronto native, recently returned to her hometown after many years away. Her widely varied musical influences are evident in the music that she writes and especially in her improvisational performances. Performing as a solo acoustic artist for many years, winning the first round of 2009 Guelph singer songwriter competition, she has also been involved in collaborations in blues, rock, jazz, folk, hip hop, soul, funk and electronica. Although she has performed from a very young age, being hired at ballrooms in Toronto at the age of 11, music and performance became particularly prominent in Sandra’s life while living in Scotland and performing in local bands like Soul Food Café, Cactus Shanti and Blueswater. She also made regular solo appearances in local venues and on St Andrews local radio station StarFM. Since moving back to Canada Sandra has been featured in several independent newspapers, including the Ryerson Free Press, the Mercurial and Urban Pie, CJSF Radio and collaborates with numerous local artists. Sandra recently made the move back to her hometown Toronto to see what the city has to offer! Sandra's debut EP 'Kingdom on the Run' is available on itunes and soundcore "Well-travelled and wise, Bouza’s thoughtful and poetic lyrics reflect a life spent absorbing everything her surroundings have to offer. She lends her impressive vocal talents to many bands and artists in the Vancouver area when she is not playing her own shows and can be found on a stage most nights of the week." ~Prhymetime Media "Sandra Bouza was delightful on guitar with only an upright bass as accompaniment. Her long notes and riffs had the essence of Florence and the Machine, and her ability to adapt covers to suit her style caught the attention of everyone as they walked in the doors." ~BC Local News
