Cortney Bryson, who goes by his stage name One-Da, was born on October 2nd, 1986 in Hampton, Va. Shortly after his first birthday they relocated to Burlington, NC where they remained until 1997 after which they moved to Greensboro, NC. One-Da attended James B. Dudley Sr. High School where he graduated in 2004. After being in North Carolina for so long he decided to move to Florida where he attended Florida A&M University (FAMU) until 2005. He later moved back to North Carolina where he finished school at North Carolina Central University graduating magna cum laude. After 4 years of rapping with the group Full Time Hustlaz (F.T.H.) One-Da decided to venture off and start working on his solo career. One-Da recently released his debut mix tape, 'Boi One-Da & [B]Dubb Present Short Notice', which was done in conjunction with west coast native Bryan [B]Dubb Whitney. The two met over the internet and created what many people have said to be a mix tape that brings hip hop back to its roots. Currently One-Da is beginning work on his 2nd mix tape ‘A OneDaful Year’. One-Da has opened for such artists as Little Brother, Big K.R.I.T., Currensy, Cyhi Tha Prynce, and Kendrick Lamar in hopes of achieving the same level of success in the near future. With electrifying stage presence and witty lyrics this is an artist that is not to be overlooked.
