• Teach Your Children Well

  This recording apply to be a very rare recording from myself. Because I do not record covers doing also by own other isntrumentation beside guitar. The reason is simple, why put more time in a recording that I can revival alive. But, for any reason, somethhing inside push me to put some extra time in "Teach Your Children Well". Elton John is my Top List in solist, Crosby Still Nash & Youn where my Top band. And many songs of them touch me very inside. This song I met in 1969 through that impossible to repeat Woodstock no matter how the tryed after and after. Of course, in the recording and doing instumentation I only got until I personally fell HAPPY. It is clear that the recording needs a lot more of travelling to those that only get satisfyed with final draws, and not only to skecths. For those many, many people let me go to their forggoten past and ask a simple question ¿ Have you Ever tasted GERBER ? ... Well let me tell you the Advertising Agency of GERBER many years ago, ask Aristis to make a draw of a Baby to be the Baby Gerber Brand. One of the Artist was called by the Agency, and told him his draw was the winner. Very happy the artist aske to the Agency when do they need the Final Draw. The Agency told him there was no need of a "Final Draw". Just the "Layout" fits perfect, no une line or shadow more, neither less. Well ... in many ways this is what happen in my opinion with this version I made. I feel it perfect, not because of curse the "finish" but "feeling" Impresionist, Pos Impressionist, of course Surrealists, by the way Abstracts ... would ever had a chance to be if we look forward only the perfects draws. In many ways I feel myself something that I think it is not considered ... a Post Impresionist Feeling of Music

I think is a romantic song, the translation of the title to english is ± "Today my Must was". I say that "I Think" beacuse he cover many political stories using metaphores. That's why for many years I thought in his deep inside he was not agree with Cuban Revolution. But after an interview in Chile some other years back, he says is fully castrists etc ... Beyond this matter, he is a great composer of songs, and for sure has an earned place in history.

But is my point of view, maybe you don't like. Just want you to know it is intentional. Is like when you see a paint abstract or surrealist, the artist exceed certain values to deep into emotions. Maybe yo like better the ones that draw the lines perfect. It is of course a good thing to look in that sense of perfection, mine is more into explore the emotions, and the draw is just a concept.   I made this way of perform this song in 2003 while I was "Busking" making a living from the streets in Europe. As always I recorded and that piece has a very important value for me, and it is a good recording, But happens that now I have a better 12 strings guitar (not the one of the photo wich is also a great one) with deeper sounds in the low strings. So I made it again. Makes me entusiasthic the great thing that Joe Cocker decide to make this song a version. I beleive this song fits JC greatfully. When I recorded on 2003 I try to feel in my performance how JC could sing this song if any time. It is a bless that he finally made it. Congratlations to the creators of "Across The Universe" still not yet in Venezuela, but to have the feeling of thinking in Joe Coker and this song for him.
