EB Anderson - Lead vocals, guitars, fiddle; Rob Anderson - Vocals, guitars; Stephen MacNeil - Upright Bass and electric bass; Derek Thomas - Drums and Percussion Mixing styles ranging from prewar folk and blues with country and rockabilly, EB Anderson & The Resolutes have been forging a path through the music scene intended on dragging their audience - be it willingly, or kicking and screaming - on a journey back to the days when before genres existed and defined artists; the days when music meant something more than just a commercial tool. Inspired by such artists ranging from honky tonker's such as Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, soulful songwriters Townes Van Zandt and John Prine, bluesmen Lightning Hopkins to country rockers like Gram Parsons, EB Anderson & The Resolutes are carving out a sound that is traditional but uniquely their own. So how did they get there? Born collectively on a Northern Nova Scotia mudflat next to a rolling green mountain, the gang went their separate ways shortly after birth on bare baby feet. They reconvened some 26 years later to swap stories of fast horses, young women, old whiskey and decidedly less money, as well as various tales of banditry and impromptu revues throughout the four corners of the upper east coast of Canada. Their place of reconsolidation was the iconic esoteric watering hole known as the Resolutes Club, in Halifax NS. After a night of debauchery, do-gooding and rock and roll ukulele covers, the gang was inspired to form a pseudo country blues band. And so it begins.
From the town's live final day of the live music festival, featuring E.B. Anderson & The Resolutes, Spyder MacDonald & Fleur Mainville, Bruce Gouthro and Dave Gunning.
