Debabrata (popularly known as Debu) is originally from Howrah, West Bengal. He got his initial singing training from his sister Ms. Tuku Mukherjee, a classical performer and afterwards from Mr. Arindam Chakraborty. He then moved to Mumbai to pursue his career and learnt Hindustani Classical vocal at Shanmukhanand Music School, Sion under the able guidance of Mr. Degwekar. Afterwards, he joined Anmol Singing Club, Navi Mumbai, Vashi and got the proper training on light music especially film music. Since his teen age, he has been a huge fan of the legendary singer Kishore Kumar whom he considers his guru. Beside Kishoreda, he sings other legendary singers also. Sad and romantic numbers in his voice are simply mesmerizing. He has done innumerable shows with karaoke and with live orchestra in Mumbai under big banners like Golden Hits, Anmol Entertainment, Legend Entertainment etc. He has performed in many Durga Puja functions also in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. He has won 3 singing competitions in Navi Mumbai and also the winner of k4kishore online singing competition 2010 organized by Digibmedia, Canada. Music arrangement was done by Rocket Mondol, a famous name in Kolkata Music Industry. Debu has now established himself in Delhi as an eminent bollywood singer of old melodies. He has done several shows with Big Banners like Sangeet Smriti (Ms. Shikha Biswas Vohra), Global Cultural Foundation (Mr. R C Chadha), Malhar Sangeet Kala Kendra (Ms. Parminder Chadha). His last performance (on June 28, 2012 Titled A Musical Journey) under Malhar Sangeet Kala Kendra banner at Epicentre, Gurgaon was well appreciated.
