He’s a business mogul, recording artist, philanthropist, activist, actor, and the one many call on to be rescued. Who am I referring to? The Hero of Independent Music of course, DIGIT MAN! Known to many during the day, as Seven Hughes, “Digit” has been a force to recon with since the “Wonder Years”. It all started on a hot summer’s day in Columbia, SC when South Carolina Record Pool owner, A.J. Savage took young Digit on as his protégé. For this skinny teen-ager, this changed everything. Savage taught Hughes what it truly meant to break an artist or record. And for years, the young high school kid-turn-promoter, was the “man on campus”. With that jean “Cross Color” bag, he was responsible for helping break artists like Nas, CeCe Peniston, Luniz to name a few in the South Carolina market. At 15yrs old, A&M/Perspective Records give him his first shot at working for a major label. It was there where he learned the importance of the politics and the “ins and outs” of the industry. Seven started his first company at 14 and since then its been a full-time grind. He doesn’t know the meaning of being an employee. As the CEO of DIGITMAN Music and 4 other self sufficient companies, a philanthropist, board of director member, father of 2 and as a recording artist, it is amazing how this ATLien gets it all done. Only averaging 2hrs/night of sleep and with a staff of professional monsters, its no wonder how his number has just been called. In 2011, Digit Man was awarded with his first international music award, presented by BEFFTA (Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion & Television Awards) for Best Unsigned Artist of the Year for 2010. This summer he headlines his own tour, the Summer of SUM Tour, where he’s giving other indie artists a chance and a time to shine. The Tour, scheduled to start in June, will take this “Monster” clear across the US from NC to CA. His achievements go way beyond his music, but his music is like none other. His fans say that he’s Nas, Slick-Rick, Eminem and Jay-Z all wrapped into a Southern Rapper. His fan-base stretches from Florida to overseas to Europe and Germany. He has come so far in such a short time, due to his business sense and his incredible team. Digit Man will be here for time and time to come. His music rocks the globe and his work ethic brings forth change. For more info, log on to www.digitmanmusic.com or www.summerofsumtour.com. For booking, digitman.music@gmail.com.
