A spirit of consciousness and a lover of Righteousness, child of Rastafari and the universe. This artist can’t be defined or placed in a box. A singer with a style of his own, creativity flows through him effortlessly like a river.Born Chad Emerson Waterman, July 8th 1983 in Canarsie and raised in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, NY. For this artist of Guyanese and Bajan heritage, Hip Hop was Chaddy’s first love. From watching video music box in the early 90’s, or listening to artists like Nas, The Fugees, Biggie, Black Star, Tribe called Quest, and Wu Tang for their raw lyricism and potent messages. There is no doubt that Chaddy is a true fan of hip hop in it’s true form. However this love for Hip Hop shifted upon discovering roots reggae music. Reggae music has really made a deep Impact on Chaddy eventually resulting in his embracing the Rastafari livity. Artists such as Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Dennis Brown, Sizzla, Jah Cure, Garnett Silk to name a few are some of his heavy influences. Also a lover of classic soul music Chaddy Royal incorporates this into his style. His love and appreciation for poetry and spoken word gives him an edge as a song writer, which tends to be a weakness for most artists.Emerging unto the scene in Jan. 2010 with his first two professionally recorded tracks called "Warriaz" and "Stress Free" produced by Little Judah of the Black Rose Sound System out of France. Since then he has worked with Cultural Prod, Tuff Staff Prod, Uprising Sounds, and a very talented young producer by the name of Bereket Tafari. “A youth far beyond his years musically”. The production style and talent of this gifted young producer has led Chaddy to make a long Journey to South Africa in Oct. 2010 to take his music career further recording his debut album “The Awakening” produced by Bereket Tafari. The album features 16 blazing tracks and was recorded at Gontji production studio in Boksburg, SA. Some popular tracks off of the album are Jah Jah lives within I, Kill Them with Kindness, Why Why Why, Strong and Courageous, and I’ll Never Roam. Several Dj’s and Radio stations has given these tracks good rotation. The album can be downloaded on Itunes, Cd baby, and Amazon. Although a new comer, Chaddy Royal has a lot in store for his musical supporters as well as a string of brand new material which will be released as of early 2012. Chaddy Royal is definitely here to make his mark and spread his music across the globe. A message of Love, Rebellion, Upliftment, and the teachings of Rastafari. Chaddy Royal quotes: "I feel that reggae music is music of Empowerment and Substance". "I've learned so much things from this music that one could never imagine learning in school book, but like they say half the truth has never been told and I feel compelled to share that truth with you".
