Platinum Factory Records Derrick 4 Real is most known for his true to life story lines and his dramatics compositions. In addition to composing and writing Derrick 4 Real still contends that he is a student absorbing knowledge from fellow Dallas acts such DSR, Eryka Badu, and Quinton Black to name a few. Derrick 4 Real is most often paired with his writing companion Clark Findley of PhatMann communications. Derrick 4 Real also worked as an engineer and in house producer for Alpha Omega Ent. While working at Alpha Omega, Derrick 4 Real created a following as one of the premiere in house producers. Producing tracks for a contingent of artists such as Dizack, Didem, Notorious Hoods, Pimp Playa Hustler just to name a few. Poppa's initial music exposure came thru working with Alpha Omega Ent, setting up PA and d j gear. Also performing at receptions, weddings, and hotels. Poppa also promotes and produces several artists under his Platinum Factory Records, artist ranging from Hardcore Hip Hop to R&B to Alternative. Derrick's eclectic formula for creating hot music is generated from his ability to dig deep into himself and apply it to his compositions. Derrick has always created music as a passion never slowing down always on the cutting edge of the next major thing. Derrick has chosen not to shop his demo in the past but now feel a since of urgency and has a goal to be the greatest rapper-singer-producer alive. He has continued in the studio completing many new songs. With a very large variety of songs to choose from. Derrick is a true studio rat with completing as much as he can always in the back of his mind. Derrick is currently a Network Specialist for AT&T full time, and continues to work on new tracks with all his free time. Derrick completes on average of 3 - 4 songs per week. Constantly grinding to polish his sound. Derrick has completed several album projects yet to be released. His debut cd titled DL volume 1, and follow up with the alternative project titled Double It Up. Both great projects in there on right but never we're promoted or shopped.
