Angelstar are a comercial high energy dance act consisting of a female vocalist, a male vocalist and a keyboard player/DJ/producer. Being primarily a covers act they are one of the most sought after dance acts in the South West of Scotland. Over the past 5 years Angelstar have enjoyed success in the Hi NRG cover versions market and have collabotated with some of the finest producers of dance music in the UK. In 2010 Angelstar's collaboration with Trilogy Project reached the top 100 of the Amazon charts. This was only one of many successful collaborations involving Angelstar and as a result their vocalists Cheryl Barnes and Frank Gormanley are widely regarded as being among the best vocalists in the UK for dance music. The summer of 2011 saw the start of a new dawn for Angelstar. They started writing and recording original dance music instead of concentrating only on cover versions. In January 2012 their first original release reached number 1 in the Amazon trance album chart and number 2 in the Amazon trance singles chart. The track also featured on Colin McArdle's Dance Anthems show on West FM. Angelstar's next release will be on the 6th of August 2012 entitled Good Times. The release features an original club mix and radio edit from Angelstar with the added bonuses of a catchy club remix from Simon Sinfield as well as a sun-drenched beach mix from The CloudShapers.
