Erin Potts : Hello! :) My name Erin and I live in AZ. I am brand new to digital photography. I have a Pentax K7 and here's what I know about it...it has a automatic green mode! Yay! :) I have a 28-80mm lens and a 100-300mm lens. I love to take pictures of nature and landscapes, but most of all I am a weather buff. Just give me a good thunderstorm and I'm happy! :) I am currently taking Adobe Photoshop CS5 at my local college and feeling a little overwhelmed (ok...maybe a LOT overwhelmed)...but I imagine I'll get through it. I created this group because I need help and figured there's got to be others out there like me. I just hope people are nice enough and feel safe enough to share what they've learned. And...there is NO such thing as a stupid question!!:) Just to let you know...I have never created a group like this before so any suggestions for improving it will be welcomed.:) Well...that's it for me right now...I hope this group resonates w/others!:) Take Care and God Bless...Erin :)

Kristen Maiden : Hey Erin, I'm Kristen! :) I'm originally from upstate NY, in the Adirondack Mts, but now I live in the subs of Philly! I love all types of photography (especially macro shots), but I mainly lean more towards shots of nature, animals, flowers, and scenery .... guess I just don't like shooting people! lol :) I have a Nikon D5000, Nikkor 18-55mm, Nikkor 55-200mm, SB-600 flash, tripod, wireless remote... and thats about it for me :) it's good to meet ya! I would love to take a photoshop class but since I have three little girls, (Elizabeth will be 3 in March, Victoria 15 months, and Aurelia 12 weeks) I have no time right now :( I'm lucky if I get to shoot once a week! well other than shots of my kids!

Erin Potts : Hi Kristen!:) I have 3 kids too, but they are much older...AJ (boy)-16, Kirstin-14, and Katie-12...but I hear you on not having enough time...it's still busy when they get older...just a different kind of busy!:) I also hear you on not liking shooting people (except my family, of course!:)) Nature is so much less opinionated! LOL! :D I also shoot way less than I want to...but I guess that will come when the kids are gone and I can retire from work...in other words...NEVER! LOL Well...maybe not never...but it sure feels like it sometimes. :) So how long have you done photography? I started at the beginning of this summer. There is an overwhelming amount to learn. I plan on taking a digital photography class next semester if I can fit it in. If not...oh well...I went into this knowing it was going to take a long time to learn everything...even years...but I am patient and willing to wait if I have to. :)

Kristen Maiden : Hey Erin, I've been into photography since high school.... I took a class back in the day that was all fundamentals and I guess that's where it all really started! I learned to develop film (black and white is soo easy but omg color is a pain), all the parts and functions of the camera parts, and how to use all different settings but none of it was about composition... most of that I've taught myself or read... I used to have all different sorts of digial cameras (Kodak's mainly) but in march my hubby bought me my first dslr! and that was it, I started shooting all the time and everything... I think I'm getting pretty good at it too! I actually have a few "clients" friends that want to pay me to take pictures for them! I'm shooting my first wedding at the end of oct, football portraits & senior portraits next week, and tons of friends kids proms in may... I'm excited! I don't like shooting people but I like the experience :) I was supposed to take an slr nikon course this summer but low and behold my daughter couldn't wait to be born so I missed it! :( I have resigned up in the mean time but the next class isn't until next month :( SO Arizona, I bet there are some great scenic places to shoot out there! I am jealous! I used to live in the adirondack mountains in NY and everywhere you look there's a gorgeous shot but down here in PA you have to go in search of beauty and unhuman ruined areas... lol
well great talking to you! :) stay in touch! :)

    : Hi All,
My name is Christine and I am from Ontario, Canada, glad I found you gals/guys!
I joined Lafango in June and entered into the Summer Photography Contest- did the two rounds- had some fun and when it was over - checked out for awhile(family stuff) so now I am back as of a couple of days ago... my things have improved here, I mean, the Lafango set up is different and better and now I find clubs to join- hence, loving it.
I have been 'shooting' all my life- well, since I can remember- but only shooting digital since 2004 and my hubby bought me my pentax. I love digital! I dislike the sitting down though at the computer with editing options... so so time comsuming...lol. As for classes, they are great.. took night school - obtained my "Applied Photography" Course Credits and my goal is to get my work published in magazines. I am learning how to write captions to go with my photo packages... editors want story-telling shots with words, they are too busy to add text, so that is another thing I need to grasp..lol... you gals are right, we always NEED to Learn!
    Smiling Chris
