Posted 9 months agoBackground: Soprano, COLETTE BOUDREAUX has been praised for her “richly beautiful instrument\n• supple, silvery in tone, technically secure, and dramatically convincing\" (Classical\nVoice of North Carolina). She won \"deserved ovations\" for her 2007 performance at New\nYork\'s Verdi Square Festival according to the New York Times. Ms. Boudreaux made her\nCarnegie Hall debut as L\'Innocente in a concert version of L\'Arlesiana with the Opera\nOrchestra of New York under the baton of Eve Queler. She has also performed with\nAsheville Lyric Opera, Lyric Opera Cleveland, Brevard Music Center, Grandview Opera,\nthe American Musical Theater Ensemble, and was featured in the Artists Recital Series at\nNew York\'s St. John the Divine Cathedral. In 2008, she won Third Prize in the Regional\nFinals of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Among her upcoming\nengagements, Ms Boudreaux will appear in concert for the Colorado Music Festival.\nLast season, Ms. Boudreaux was featured in a concert at the Historic Tennessee Theatre\nand performed as a soloist with the Asheville Symphony Chorus in addition to playing\nthe role of Pamina in Asheville Lyric Opera’s production of Die Zauberflöte and\nFrasquita in Carmen. Most recently, she appeared in ALO’s production of Sound of\nMusic, stepping in as Liesl and choreographer. Ms. Boudreaux was a 2012 quarterfinalist\nfor the esteemed American Traditions Competition. In addition to performing, she\nand her husband, Scott Joiner, run a private voice studio.\nMs. Boudreaux garnered excellent reviews for her portrayal of Madame Brillante in the\nManhattan School of Music Opera Studio production of L\'Italiana in Londra directed by\nNew York City Opera\'s Albert Sherman. Other major roles have included Musetta (La\nBoheme) Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Eurydice (Orpheus in the Underworld),\nValencienne (The Merry Widow), and Despina (Cosi fan tutte). In 2008, Ms. Boudreaux\nperformed under the direction of Tony and Emmy Award-winning\ndirector/choreographer, George Faison at the Inaugural Gala of New York’s Faison\nFirehouse Theatre in an event honoring poet Dr. Maya Angelou.\nAs an undergraduate at Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, winner of the Dean\'s\nScholarship, she was recognized as an emerging talent by legendary mezzo-soprano\nMarilyne Horne. She proceeded with her studies at Manhattan School of Music, where\nshe was awarded the Jeanette and H. Peter Kriendler Scholarship.\n
