Look, I use YouTube a lot for different things, but the idea of Lafango is far superior. And besides, let's just admit it. Everybody is looking for a supplement or even an alternative to YouTube. This isn't a criticism of YouTube, really. However, they have gotten so big that it is like a YouTube video could enter a vortex and disappear. People seem to get seen more on Lafango, and they are required to do their own work, rather than just upload something from the public domain, or dare I say it, even pirated. And then there is all the stuff revolving around Google, which may turn out to be at least somewhat unfair to them as more information comes out, but I don't know. I've found things on Google that had been removed from another place I thought was more free and open than Google. I won't name the other place.

Besides that, Lafango has the potential to attract different types of, for lack of a better word, artists. It is meant be sort of multi-platform, and many of the user don't simply fit into just one type of creativity or another. I would say I look forward to the day when Lafango gives YouTube some real tough competition, but there are advantages to sort of flying under the radar too. Maybe, they already have been giving the mighty YouTube more competition than I am aware of. I don't know. But I seem to remember John Melloncamp saying that Pete Seeger told him to keep it small.

Still, wouldn't be something if Lafango ended up being the place. It might already be the place for the more creative people, but I don't know that for sure. I don't have those statistics, really.

I've noticed some of these new condenser type mics really run into the red. It can be impossible to turn the gain down enough.
