I have spent most of the summer traveling with my two daughters and their families. I have been all the way to the east coast at Wilmington Beach and as far west as Salt Lake City. I now have over 2500 new pictures for art reference. It has been a great time and I am so excited to get back to my painting. This weekend I am participating in a pleinaire painting at an arboretum. September 25, I will have an art booth at the Little Bear Art Festival at Neodesha, ks. October2, I will be the host pastel artist of the Lindsborg Kansas Second Annual La Strada. Also in October, my Ottawa,Kansas Art Guild is having it's annual All Member Show, titled "The Poetic Life". Sometimes we have to take a break from our art to get inspired to do more creative art. An artist needs to get out of the studio so they will not get stale. It's too easy to paint from other peoples photos. Get out in this beautiful fall weather and paint directly from nature. After you get used to it, you will have a new look to your work. You have to be willing to accept a more abstract look. It is a good thing to stretch yourself. So Get Our There and Paint!
