Ok so i'm from Houston Texas, and when i was growing up i was told it only snow there every 10 years lol. I thought that was true because it snowed when i was 5 and again when i was 15 lol. Well when i moved to Nashville the one thing i had to get use to was the cold weather and the snow, black ice, all of those things that Houston didn't have. Now i've been here for a while and i'm used to it, in fact when i tell people that i love the cold weather and snow, then tell them i'm from Houston they're like "what the hell" i guess i'm supposed to hate the cold weather because i'm from Texas, well at first i did and now i love winter time. So being in Tennessee i've seen some of the winters slack off a bit, other places in Tennessee would get loads of snow, but it always seem like the snow storm would skip over Nashville. Well i got my wish this weekend, when they were talking about a winter storm i was thinking oh hell it's just going to skip over us "NOT". This past weekend we got hit with almost 4 inches of snow in Smyrna, i know it may not seem like shit to other places that get 4 feet or more but in Nashville/Smyrna where getting an inch of snow is rare, it's nice to see it. So i took pictures which will be up soon, and my nephews had a field day lol. The schools here are still closed, and it don't look like the ice or snow is going anywhere. Here is what i don't understand, why is it colleges don't close? Like if the county schools are closed and the big colleges in the area are closed are opening late, why are the community colleges open? Today i was supposed to go to class, well my driveway is down hill and it was iced over at 7am, not to mention when i checked with Murfreesboro, alot of the streets were covered with snow and ice. So is going to class for three hours really worth the risk? What about the teachers that couldn't come in? I heard from a friend in class that our teacher for today couldn't even make it to class, so what will happent to that teacher? What's so funny is that alot of the community colleges around Smyrna/Nashville were closed or opening late, except the one i was going to, and from what i heard alot of students and teachers didn't make it. So why count students and teachers absent when you should have closed the schools or opened late. now i'm going to skip to another subject that i was just thinking about, my brother is having a little girl in may, and looking at his girlfriends belly made me think about something i heard lol, they say that most of the babies are conceived in the winter because people just want to stay inside lol well my babies will probably be conceived in the spring and summer cause i like to stay in when it's hot lol. I hate that winter is almost over, i just hope it's not cut short by the groundhog, i could really use more days like the ones we have been having.
