About every 10 minutes, I'm sent to somebody's blog. Sometimes it's on our site, sometimes, Mashable, Wired, someone's Wordpress, etc. And there's a certain look to a blog that makes it, well, look like a blog. So what was a 30 minute tweak turned into a 4 hour overhaul and, in turn, we took some style ideas from other sites and transformed our blog into a much better looking, easier to read blog. This was brought to my attention by one of our talented participants Neil Sen Gupta http://www.neilsengupta.com/ from Australia, who himself was a victim of the shady corruption of Indian reality shows. This is indeed a shame for all of us who watch and wish for these participants to succeed but they end up losing heart and confidence due to the biased judgments and comments of the judges. Ever since we introduced photo contests here on Lafango, the amount of high-quality images has sky rocketed making this site a haven for both amateur and expert photographers. Yesterday, a major upgrade was done to the contest system. You may have noticed some of the changes, but in case you didn't, I want to quickly go over some of the new things you can expect: The pages should load faster. This should be especially noticeable when voting. There's a new layout. Hopefully, this will clear up some of the questions about contest dates, guidelines, etc. All users now have a custom, contest-specific user page where their entries can be submitted, viewed, and voted on.... A few days ago, YouTube announced that they were increasing their time limit of uploaded content to a whopping 15 minutes- a 50% increase from their previous 10. Hey YouTube. Lafango has never had a time limit on any upload. Ever. In fact, the only limit we have is file size. Lafango currently only has a 2GB upload limit. That's big enough for more than a few hours of video. Hours. Not minutes. Create a TV show. Film your entire concert. Even add an independent film. So while YouTube boasts... (View More)
