Youre That Kind of Girl 2012

This song was written and performed by the techno-rap outfit I was in back in the late 80s/early 90s, TMC+The New Generation. Our rapper wanted to do something over a reggae beat and we built the whole song around a repetitive reggae preset rhythm on a Roland R8 drum machine. This was our first attempt at 3-part harmony as well. The original version•at least a portion of it•survived to this day thanks to a crappy VHS recording of one of our few live shows. My fellow TMC keyboardist/programmer and I reconnected with our rapper through Facebook earlier this year and I decided that I a) wanted to create a clean, full version of the song and b) present it to my old bandmates as a musical keepsake. Of course, I never knew exactly what our rapper was saying during the verses so I had to rewrite those lyrics, but I did my best to retain the spirit and mindset of the original words. And, yes, I used some faux auto-tune on it.
