At a time when Lata ji and Asha ji ruled the roost, Anuradha was like a beautiful orchid that bloomed in the music industry in the 90's.She received the Filmfare award for the Best Female Playback singer for 3 consecutive years from 1991-93.She was the first playback singer whose face featured on music covers more than the film's actors.Anuradha apparently never received any formal training in classical music.With Lataji as her muse,she has sung maximum duets with Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu.This latest duet from Iftikhar and me, from "Sadak",with Nadeem Shravan at the helm of composition to trail-blaze the lyrics of Surendra Sathi ,was one effort of ours that seemed to have received the stamp of approval from Iftikhar who is otherwise so reticent........as for me, I have been like a bird on a flight into yonder blue skies as I exercised the freedom of my vocal chords once more ~~~`
