Background: www.michellefarrugia.com Michelle was born in Melbourne Australia on the 7th of February, 1982. From the age of three Michelle began to show a musical interest by continuously playing her little ukulele that she received as a Christmas present, and singing the Beatles hit ¢Michelle my Belle.¢ At the age of eight, Michelle was auditioned and was accepted to study with the Victorian Children§s Choir (VCC) and the story really starts from there. She remained with the choir for 3 years and was chosen to train and perform with the VCC§s Performing Choir. Once she realized that singing was her true passion, Michelle started having private singing training. From that time she has performed in many different events, theatre productions, television and radio programs in Australia and overseas. Michelle also continued her Vocal studies through Melbourne University§s prestigious Victorian College of the Arts, completing a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice and Opera. It was here that Michelle§s musical taste developed even more bringing a diverse mix of artists to her ear from Maria Callas to Eva Cassidy, Barbra Streisand, Carol King, Whitney Huston, Joss Stone, Tina Arena, Aretha Franklin and many, many more. Michelle also enjoys an array of musical styles from Soul, Opera, Jazz, Lied, Blues, French Song, Folk, English Song, Rock but most of all her love for a rich lyrical ballad has never been surpassed. In 2006, Michelle continued studying to become a Teacher of music and singing. This time was very demanding and required much commitment and dedication from Michelle which up until then was always given to her singing. Surprisingly for her it was at this time that she began to write her own songs. Michelle finds writing music a very exposing, exciting, and soul searching process but she acknowledges and accepts the journey it is taking her on and feels fortunate to have the opportunity to share it with you all.
