Emam & Friends

Background: For over two decades now, I§ve been producing albums and performing live using the name "Emam & Friends¢, which covers all the different formations the band has taken. The music is usually a combination of two or more styles blended together and mostly based on North Indian classical music. I have been trained in the art of North Indian drumming by the grand masters of tabla: Ustad Alla Rakha and Ustad Zakir Hussain. There are also influences from Eastern European music, Middle Eastern music and Jazz in my compositions. I love composing using odd and unusual rhythms.
